MUST READ – CONE ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA (Click to expand)
Recycling Information
- We accept cones of any brand and weight, with or without reflective collars. There is no minimum or maximum quantity.
- The cones must meet the acceptance criteria or major damage occurs with the processing equipment – process comes to a grinding halt!
- Individual cone photos are not required. Photos of your cones can be taken of the entire pallet (try to give a clear picture).
- For efficient processing, cones must be palletised for offloading. We have forklift capability on site. For loose cones (e.g., from traffic management vehicles), we request that your crew please assist with unloading into our designated drop-off zone.
- IMPORTANT: Please wait for confirmation from an RTL representative before returning any cones. We need to verify that your cones are suitable for our recycling process.
Carry out these Checks:
- Remove any embedded rocks / stones from the underside of the cones. These cause serious issues with our machinery :(
-
Acceptable Cones:
-
- Cones with punctures and small areas of staining from materials such as asphalt, cement slurry, or dirt are acceptable.
- Cones where the upper portion has separated from the base are acceptable if both pieces are returned and stacked together as one unit.
- Upper portions of cones without bases are acceptable for recycling.
Unacceptable Cones:
-
- If the cone has a large amount of bitumen (tar) or gravel, chipseal or any other foreign objects like screws, stones, nails, in or on them, then they cannot be recycled as they cannot go through the shredder and be reused.
- Broken bases, small broken parts, or any other unacceptable cones returned will incur a disposal charge of $6.00 + GST per piece/cone, as these items cannot be recycled through our standard processes.
